I think he wants you to answer the question:

"How much influence does the media have on our life?"

Including paragraphs on:

- Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

- How much of this has changed over the past ten years, fifty years, 200 years?

- Why is everyone obsessed with reality television?

- How much is too much when it comes to war photography?

- Where in the world is Waldo?

I don’t think he wants a list of facts though, it should be your opinion and I think it should be written informally, like how someone would write on a blog.

He wants you to discuss how media impacts our daily lives. You’re opening line should be something the grabs the reader. "Does the media have control over your life?" You need examples, and there are a lot of them. Everything from Coke vs Pepsi to propaganda used during war.

The entire concept of the power of suggestion is complete BS. Only people who are already "open" to an idea presented to them will "experience" any kind of reaction. Yes, these participants were reacting to suggestion. They already knew what the "healing dude" was doing AHEAD of time.

The second concept of people feeling "the power of the Lord Jesus" is different in two ways. First, there is no "suggestion" ahead of time (and if it is part of some evangelical convention, then it is also BS). Second, the Lord Jesus is not a human being and has true power and authority. As the Bible clearly states, "With God all things are possible".

This reminds me of a story that was in the news, years ago. A study had been done to see how depressed and anxious dogs would respond to antidepressants. Some of the dog owners reported a definite improvement in their dogs temperament, even in some dogs who, unbeknownst to their owners, had been given placebos.

The placebo effect works in mysterious ways. LOL

It’s probably the same thing as when one group of people take a drug and another group takes a placebo and some taking the placebo start feeling better. They ‘believe’ they are taking the drug and that belief is enough to help them feel better.

Having the faith–or belief–to be healed obviously can come from the mind–the power of suggestion as you say, rather than from God. It means very little spiritually but does show how powerful ‘belief’ really is.

I Cor. 13: 2 says you could have ALL faith so you could remove mountains but without love, it is nothing. I’m not sure what the ‘power of Christ coursing through your veins’ means but I Corinthians 13 shows that love is the most important attribute of a Christian

You don’t have to believe in God to be aware of healing.Its not religious.Why do people always have to bring God into everything.These people were either genuine , or as you say , open to suggestion.I dont think any atheist would say they felt something if they didn’t as they can be sceptical about such matters.Anyone can heal others , they just don’t go shouting about it.

this is the only way people can experience the supernatural
do you expect people to literally glow? that would go against scientific logic

just as do placebo effects, people have healed very powerful illnesses through thought. do not underestimate it’s powers

and as delusional as I may seem in saying this, I have good reason:
by scoffing at these feelings you are only shunning that power from your life.
If you do not believe even for a second that an aspirin may help your situation, then it won’t, even though it’s effects have been clinically tested, your thought prevails.

and when people claim to feel the power of lord jesus coursing through them, then they are feeling the essence of that power, they name it with jesus.. though it is just a form of universal life energy. Yes, your mind creates these things… but the effect they have on you is very, very real.

No surprise. Denialist don’t actually want the data. They wouldn’t know what to do with it if they actually got it. they just want to make it look like the other guy is hiding it.

Unfortunately, global warming deniers are much better at this than creationists.
