Change of scene

Disclosure Policy

It's possible I may expand this blog and give it a complete makeover with possible new angles etc.

Watch this space!!

In the mean time, best advice I can give from this blog is that one of the easiest and most consistant ways to create an income from blogging is to use PayPerPost.

Click the button on this blog to join and earm in a s little as 30 days.

The beauty of it is you can post everyday if needed to and in 30 days you start getting paid for NOW and everday after as long as you post using their service.

I highly recommend it!

Oliver Gaspirtz.. the cartoonist

Disclosure Policy

Oliver Gaspirtz's cartoons have appeared in many well known magazines and newspapers, including the National Enquirer, Sun, etc.

Before he decided to publish his cartoons exclusively on the internet in 2000.

These were drawn on paper then scanned to a pc and edited using photoshop..and the results are great.

I have grown up drawing cartoons, and both my sons love drawing them too, so this is one site we will be looking at often.

It will give us an endless amount of creative ideas for our own cartoons, but there is more than just plain cartoons here, there are funny ones, black humour ones, flash cartoons etc.

Viral podcast anyone?

Disclosure Policy

Podcast are a great way to spread your message whatever it is.
Doing a podcast has the added benefit of less distraction when users listen to them... win win..

Imagine people talking their usual trip to work in the morning being able to utilise that time to listen to YOUR podcast, they are more likely to take in your message better.

Add a bit of humour, uniqueness and fun viral aspect... you could be onto something!

Why are people not making the most of it?

Maybe its the cost of hosting them for download, maybe its the hassle of actually doing that, putting them up, checking them etc..

Well fret no more..there is no reason to NOT try it when you can do it free AND host it free..
Nothing to lose when you try, go and create a Free Podcast and see what you do.

Think about your unique angle and approach..you may hit a winner.

Viral videos..

Disclosure Policy

A few post back I posted a great example of a viral video.

There is a new (to me) site that utilises funny videos, as you know they often become very viral.
This could be a great place to check out for grabbing inspiration for your ideas.

We all love the funny things, laughter is great for us.
What ideas can you come up with from there to utilise?

Take a good look around the site and have a good laugh...I did!

Your videos as you can see don't have to be "movie quality", just original and funny..

Unique is viral

There are just some things not everyone can do and if you have a talent that is pretty unique you have a great chance of creating a viral aspect from it.
Depends on what the talent itself is decides the way you create a viral aspect from it.

If you can video it you will have a great chance of it spreading fast and far.
Everyone likes to watch a video it seems.

Myspace layouts

Disclosure Policy

I have mentioned before here about having a nice unique layout for your sites, or blogs, and myspace sites.

I see a huge variety of layouts on myspace.

Some are plain awful and some are really nice.
Each to their own I guess.

Alot depends on the person using it and maybe their audience.
But to use the plain boring white backround you get when you sign up is... well not worth it.

There are lots of places where you can get myspace web layouts and jazz up your myspace.

Be different and jazz it up but remember not to go to far overboard and annoy your visitors.
Not only is it annoying at times it can also be a slow loading layout and take ages to see...not good.

Take a good look and pick a reflection of your personality.

Payperpost income!

Disclosure Policy

Having started to use payperpost's service in December I thought I would share my thoughts and how it has been going for me, the pluses and negatives.

So far I have hit the ten post count, yet am still awaiting approval on 5 of them which is a hassle due to knowing once I have ten approved I can start trying the service on another blog.
The one thing that I missed at the begining as I hadn't thought of which would be better to use the service with, so I just started on this one without a second thought.

Has it worked out?

Well I do find a few viral topics, and its not hard to see a viral aspect in most things online...
IF you want some real hits online you need to think of the viral aspect to all you do.

There more you aware of the viral aspects in your thinking the more opportunity you spot with viral potental in everything... thats a good thing.
So there are plenty of things I can blog about with payperpost, and its been ok to get ten so far.

Payperpost have used a great viral aspect to get themselves out there in the blogosphere.

The earning level I have hit so far on this blog alone is just under 90 dollars.
Bot to bad for ten post, post that also give me more viral content.
Win win..

I have yet to actualy get paid as the payments are 30 days after the post .

If I can do one a day I will at least earn something everyday.. if there are enough relevant post to the topics of the blogs..so they have a need to have a viral aspect I can see..

But if you had 5 blogs all accepted you could blog for a living using payperpost..thats good.
Its less pressure to "make it work" using other things..so you can just enjoy the posting more and keep motivated.

The fact you need to make a NON payperpost post between any of theirs, and within 7 days means there will always be fresh contents across thousands of blogs.

Its a benefit to everyone. :o)

Now they just need to speed up the approval rate for mine!

Kidding peeps! ;o)

I like the fact you get paid as you go along, this keeps it nice and regular as well as keeping you posting nice and regular.
The idea behind it all is a sound one to me.
No one minds people earning for the work they put in.

So.. I am pleased with it, but will be further pleased when I actually see the money come in.
I will have to decide on what I do on my other blog but the "trial period" for me is still going but going well.

The downside to the service is some people are just to quick to jump on the opportunites, and some probably feel a litte peed off with the good ones going to fast.

I do feel they could limit the amount of blogs we can add... say a 5 blogs max..that way you can still post ten opps and earning a living, but you also leave room for others to do the same.

Otherwise people will get greedy and ruin it.
Then again they will have to be very busy blogging to keep going on more than 5 blogs anyway.
This is not a service that "spammers" can abuse.
That is one very good point to me.

Only real blogs allowed.

So.. yes its a good service and a solid way to make money at home and it could be a perfect income to pay the bills for all those thousands of work at home mums while the kids are in school.

Its a service that will fit almost any blog.
You can have a variety of blog topics on your blog, and find one post that will fit it.

So.. I like it.

Just waiting for the real payments...which will keep me better focused on keeping the blogs going and with better quality and less presssure.

I recommend it..and when I get paoid I will be getting a camera..which will spice this blog lots thats for sure...

I need and really look forward to getting a cmera...if Ted would like to throw one my way, I would be greatful!

There is a new site out that has a good viral potential yet is just a twist on some already suuccessful ideas that have happened over the last year or so.

Fuelmyblog.com is a wall of bloggers..so to speak.
With 500 boxes up for grabs for free... its worth checking out.

You have a link in the box with a litte picture, ues I DO have one.. for my other blog.. :o)

Motorola RAZR and humble pie!

Disclosure Policy

Not together of course.. ;o)

Hope my eldest son doesn't read this as I will be eating humble pie at least, and he just may keep on at us, "but that IS the one I like!."

I have to say I AM suprised by this being picked the top choice of 2006 based on customer orders, topping the top ten of all those thousands of phones.

I didn't like it myself, I felt it looked "fragile", being a little slower on the uptake of modern technology I thought it made sense seeing how thin they are!

My son joked that we can't keep walking around with "brick size phones" anymore.
He may just have a point ther but personally I would prefer something a little more "sturdy."

His friend had one I agree it was a nice phone to use, with plenty of good things going for it, I just couldn't help but think I would end up taking a bite out of it one day thinking it was a wafer!

The most important thing was according to my son... NOT to get a pink one!
Only black... ;o)

Ok son.. I will eat humble pie for at least underestimating your taste.

I prefer the ones that don't flip and such, but each to their own and the results speak for themselves.

Not sure about getting a pink one!
He will difinately go crazy.
You know what young teens are like with "trends and fashions."

As his birthday is in march it could be a good present, as long he doesn't read about it here that is.
Congrats to them, more about it from Wirefly..

Viral death!

Disclosure Policy

hmmm.. Been an interesting few days for a number of reasons.
I know that controversy will spark a reaction, even if it is a "used tactic" that people claim is a bad move.

I started a thread on a forum offering a free book and it certainly opened my eyes.

It soon got alot of views and a big % of downloads, I posted this today and it has suprised me how many people read the thread, downloaded the book in such a short time.
It was just under 60 within an 90 minutes!

Now it has gone way past 200 and the thread has been read almost 800 times as I write this!

Not a bad set of stats for something I spent a few hours writing out.
I was a little nervous about selling it so just shared freely with those great warriors.
I could have built a list with it... maybe I missed a trick according to some, but I do believe in "paying it forward"

BUT it has made me think and I now have another great idea to utilise! ;o)

Aint this viral lark great?!
Well I know for sure viral marketing is a long way off dead!

Unique myspace layout

Disclosure Policy

If you have been under a rock for a while you may not have seen myspace.com a fast growing and massively popular community site.
The one thing that really stands out is the over the top layouts that people use, most of them are to much, to "busy", some are very annoying, going way over the top and being far to wide creating a huge scroll bar at the bottom.

Far better is a nice clean simple layout that is unique.
Having a myspace page myself I have a very simple page.

One good way to create something is to outsource it to the creative designers.

Finding them is a different matter!

Alternatively you could Find the Creative Talent You need and have a really unique page layout.
One sure way to get noticed AND please the visitors.

Make it the right width and you could have a perfect design to reflect you.

Don't lose your data!

Disclosure Policy

On my last pc I had 100's of products which cost alot of money and one day everything just went blink... gone!
I have only been THAT frustrated a few times in life and would'nt want it to happen again on this pc so I take regular back ups, just in case!

It only takes ONE little thing to crash a pc, yes they are getting better and less prone to crashing but it only has to happen once, if bad enough you can kiss all that info and products goodbye!

No-one wants that.. so it is important to back up copies for safe keeping.

Better still would be online back ups, so it is not all stoored on your pc.. should something happen.
At worst your pc could be permantly damaged for example by fire.
If you have online back ups, you have the security of knowing all that data is safe.

Try out a new service called FileBanc which will save all your data and you never lose anything.

Viral listbuilding at its best

Disclosure Policy

Just read a very very interesting report which is free, a very good idea that spread itself with a great viral marketing tactic.

The authour details ghow he went from 0 subscribers to over 39.000 in just a few short weeks, that list has gone on to be a million dollar business!

Yes..I was suprised too, yet the way he did it IS unique but simple and it worked very well.

Just this free book will give you ideas on creating a viral list.. apply it to your area of work, your niche, whatever it is you can be sure no-one else in your niche is doing it!

THAT gives you a massive advantage.

While it is effective, you will need to cater the approach to suit your target market.

But it should'nt be to hard if no one else is doing it. ;o)

A great idea

Disclosure Policy

Just noticed this great service that is very timely for all of us, considering Christmas has just been and gone.

I bet there are alot of you that have had gift cards in your Christmas cards from those in the family who often get "stumped" at what to give you... so they will get you a voucher, after all its a quick easy way to solve the problem, give them the choice of gift by letting them get it themselves.

But how many of you are like me? You get a gift voucher for a shop you never use?

Knowing that the voucher is already paid for it is a shame to NOT use them.... but there IS an alternative, and its a great idea.

Donate A Gift Card - gift card donation website utilizes a new patent pending system for donating the value of any unused gift card. Just choose a charity, fill in the form and drop it in the mail with your gift card. Thats it! Plus you may be able to get a tax deduction.. even better.. ;o)

How simple and very clever an idea! Not only are you NOT wasting your relatives or friends money, you are helping YOUR choice of charity!

Tell you friends and family... but dont tell those who gave YOU the gift voucher.. ;o)

A great idea like this deserves to be spread virally.

Would I say that? ;o) @ 11:08 PM, , link to spread this gossip!

John Cleese

Disclosure Policy

And his great sense of humour for all to read and share..
I think it would make a great viral piece.
I wonder just how many across the pond will "get it" ;o)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

An open letter that John Cleese has written to the people of America:

To the citizens of the United States of America:

In light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. Her Sovereign Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories (excepting Kansas, which she does not fancy).

Your new prime minister, Tony Blair, will appoint a governor for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed.

To aid in the transition to a British Crown Dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:

1. You should look up "revocation" in the Oxford English Dictionary. Then look up "aluminium," and check the pronunciation guide. You will be amazed at just how wrongly you have been pronouncing it. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour', 'favour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix "ize" will be replaced by the suffix "ise." You will learn that the suffix 'burgh' is pronounced 'burra'; you may elect to respell Pittsburgh as 'Pittsberg' if you find you simply can't cope with correct pronunciation. Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels (look up "vocabulary"). Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as "like" and "you know" is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication.

2. There is no such thing as "US English." We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take account of the reinstated letter 'u' and the elimination of "-ize."

3. You will relearn your original national anthem, "God Save The Queen", but only after fully carrying out Task #1 (see above).

4. July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday. November 2nd will be a new national holiday, but to be celebrated only in England. It will be called "Come-Uppance Day."

5. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not adult enough to be independent. Guns should only be handled by adults. If you're not adult enough to sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist then you're not grown up enough to handle a gun.

6. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. A permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public.

7. All American cars are hereby banned. They are crap and this is for your own good. When we show you German cars, you will understand what we mean. All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric immediately and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour.

8. The Former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling "gasoline") -roughly $6/US gallon. Get used to it.

9. You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called "crisps." Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with mayonnaise but with vinegar.

10. Waiters and waitresses will be trained to be more aggressive with customers.

11. The cold tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as "beer," and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as "Lager." American brands will be referred to as "Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine," so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion.

12. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie MacDowell attempt English dialogue in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater.

13. You will cease playing American "football." There is only one kind of proper football; you call it "soccer." Those of you brave enough will, in time, will be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American "football", but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies). Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the "World Series" for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware that there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable.

14. You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad.

15. An internal revenue agent ( i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due backdated to 1776.

Thank you for your co-operation.

John Cleese
